BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING PUBLIC HEARING June 9, 2014 On June 9, 2014, the Shawnee Township Board of Trustees held a PUBLIC HEARING at the Shawnee Township Administration Building, 2530 Fort Amanda Rd., Lima, Ohio. Chairperson Chris Seddelmeyer called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. Roll call indicated those Board Members present as follows: Chairperson Chris Seddelmeyer and Trustee Russ Holly. Fiscal Officer Stephanie Hoffer and Zoning Inspector Jim Hile were also present. The purpose of the meeting was for the Board of Township Trustees and the Public to hear the Shawnee Township Zoning Commissions recommendation for amending the Shawnee Township Zoning Resolutions as follows: 1. To accept the Projected Land Use Map as recommended by the LACRPC. 2. To accept the LACRPC recommendations to amend current Shawnee Township Zoning Resolution Article XIX, Area & Bulk Requirements Section 1900 – Residential and Agricultural Districts - Schedule of Regulations to reflect additional zoning classifications to include RIH and RIIH (“H” depicting Historical) thereby placing these properties in compliance with Article XIX. 3. To adopt the LACRPC recommended zoning specifications of the area previously known as the Village of Fort Shawnee to thereby conform to/with the newly amended Article XIX of the Shawnee Township Zoning Resolution Zoning Map. Letter of Recommendation, dated April 14, 2014 (attached). Zoning Inspector Jim Hile talked about reclassification of lots, combining lots, dealing with lot sizes, and houses over lot lines, issues the Zoning Commission dealt with in incorporating new territory from the former Village of Fort Shawnee in the current Township Zoning Resolutions. Public Comments Mike Foley, 2843 S. Dixie Hwy., Lima, Ohio Mr. Foley stated property he owns near Marathon Oil that was zoned industrial, is now zoned residential, and he would have preferred it stayed industrial. Wendall Stahler, 5120 McClain Rd., Lima, Ohio Discussion: Three separate properties with one house on lots. New resolution will combine 3 lots into one saving the property owner in assessments. David Ryan, Township Zoning Commission Discussion: Old records and zoning authority of the former Village of Fort Shawnee. Mr. Holly mentioned the Board of Trustees has 20 days after this meeting to approve by resolution the Zoning Commission’s recommendations, and will ask that the Commission consider Mr. Foley’s request as mentioned above. Further, Mr. Holly made a motion to accept the Zoning Commission’s Recommendations to Amend the Township’s Zoning Resolutions, Mrs. Seddelmeyer seconded, and the motion carried. Adjournment With no further business to be brought before the Board of Trustees, Mr. Holly motioned the meeting adjourn, Mrs. Seddelmeyer seconded and the motion carried 2-0.
